End of Times Looming
End times or not, we arrived in the most exiting period of time in human history.
Undoubtedly with so much suffering, egoism and lawlessness we are at the beginning of the so called End Times. A period, definitely not the end of the planet or the universe but a shake up of what’s on it. The end of times are generally described as the final stage of human history or the current world order.
This is the time of rumors of wars and loads of suffering in the broadest way you can image. Various Holy Scriptures tell all the same.
Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. Not to forget climate change, and massive environmental destruction. And it is just the beginning of the big tribulation. You ain’t seen nothing yet.
As the term is most commonly associated with Christianity it also shows up in Hindu, Islamic, Jewish and Buddhist traditions.
Here’s a line up of religions all telling the similar story about the final days.
Christianity: Often called the “last days,” this period is believed to precede the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. Key events typically include the “Great Tribulation” This will be a period of intense suffering. There will also be the rise of the Antichrist, and the final battle known as Armageddon.
The Islam is mentioning the Day of Judgment (Qiyāmah), preceded by the appearance of the false messiah (Al-Masih ad-Dajjal) and the return of Jesus (ʿĪsā) to defeat him.
In Judaism it refers to the “end of days” (acharit ha-yamim), which focuses on the Messianic Age—a future era of global peace and the resurrection of the righteous.
And there are also “Eastern Religions“ like Hindu and Buddhist pinpointing to the big change that apparently is coming upon us. Hinduism describes the current age as the Kali Yuga, which ends with the arrival of Kalki who will restart the cycle of time. Buddhism predicts a future Buddha named Maitreya who will appear after the current teachings are forgotten.
But all that happens doesn’t mean the end of the universe or humans, it is widely seen as a turning point, a shake up and clean up that ultimately will lead to a new and in the broadest way better world.
