The evaporating freedom of speech in Europe

Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine I wonder why I can use the Russia Today (RT) app here in North Cyprus and America but not in the EU. As soon as I enter EU territory the line is dead. Even in the Southern part of the Island, which is EU territory. No RT.

As nobody prevents me from collecting news, I use a workaround with VPN. Works great.

Recently I met an EU Member of Parliament sitting next to me on a plane. I told him about my VPN solution and he felt silent.

What has the EU to hide? EU politicians so fond of their deteriorating but still relatively strong democracies seems no longer resistant to different opinions.

When it comes to Russia there is a ban on Internet and RT on satellite as well. It seems that Citizens of Europe have no right to get the other side of the story.

I just wanna know what’s really going on in Ukraine and the mounting financial risks for the rest of the world. Therefore I need reports from all parties involved.

Particularly for the European people it’s a shame as they suffer as war victims in cold homes and with skyrocketing inflation.

Why is Europe fighting a war on the wallet of the population. And why hiding other opinions.

For example: Recently German media misled the people about the LNG deal with Qatar.

This agreement isn’t the Holy Grail. Qatar can only deliver up to 6 percent from what Germany really needs. European governments and media lie unstoppable or just tell a part of the story to prevent loosing support for a war the West better stays out.

Fact is that most of the European citizens have not the slightest idea of what is going on. Politicians benefit from stupidity.

As the information ban widens, the EU now threatens Elon Musk with a Twitter ban.

The Financial Times reported that EU commissioner Thierry Breton warned the social media platform that it might be banned in case it doesn’t comply with the EU block’s censor rules that will come into effect in 2024.

The EU’s Digital Services Act (DSA) is about censorship. Media platforms stay in limbo as governments can alter the definitions any time.

The DSA is comparable with the Anti Money Laundering AML/CFT act. Initially a good initiative as it was meant to fight financial crime and terrorism. Now increasingly abused as a political instrument against companies and citizens acting not in line with the political aim of Brussels.

Europe is on its way to become like the former Soviet Union, a totalitarian block suppressing its citizens, ruining their finances and making life darker than ever.
